Welcome to the Home of the Justice Information Network
Mission
To improve public safety and the quality of justice by providing criminal and civil justice practitioners with complete, timely, and accurate information and to improve operational efficiency by facilitating the integration of disparate systems throughout the state.
Goal
To develop and maintain, in a cost-effective manner, a statewide network of criminal justice information that enables the seamless sharing and integrated delivery of justice information maintained in independent federal, state, and local information systems.
Update
Washington's Justice Information Network (JIN) Program continues to build upon nationally recognized initiatives that provide the justice community with more complete, timely, and accurate information. The deployment of the Justice Information Network Data Exchange (JINDEX) platform during the 2007-2009 Biennium successfully established the foundation for improved statewide integration. One application provides information from multiple sources to justice personnel in a single query; a second application enables state and local agencies to create and route electronic citation and collision information from law enforcement agencies to the appropriate state data repositories in a matter of minutes versus days or even weeks. By supporting these applications, justice personnel perform their respective duties with greater confidence that decisions are based on accurate and complete information.
